Eddy Kenzo Brags About His Presidential Powers After Bruno K’s Concert
Singer and head of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo) has boasted about being the President’s right-hand man wherever he goes. This comes after he extended the performance curfew during Bruno K’s Ekiboozi concert by an additional hour.
In Uganda, concerts are required to conclude by midnight. However, some have been allowed to run significantly longer, especially in the presence of prominent political figures. When asked about Bruno’s concert, Kenzo stated that extending the event by one hour was simply a logical decision.
He explained that the young audience was lively and enthusiastic even at midnight. Ending the concert at that time would have been detrimental to their enjoyment, and being a fun-loving individual, he empathized with them. The Big Talent founder mentioned that as a presidential appointee, he can exercise presidential authority wherever he is.
“Truly, I’m a presidential appointee, and I can act as the President would wherever I find myself. So, during Bruno’s concert, I applied logic and common sense because the youths were energized and joyful. Stopping the concert would have been unfair to them. I wanted them to fully enjoy what they paid for,” he remarked.
It is worth mentioning that Kenzo was appointed as a Presidential advisor in creative arts last year. He also indicated that he intends to discuss with the President the possibility of lifting the curfew for a few hours, particularly in areas where there are no residents, as the main issue with the midnight curfew is noise pollution.
