Dr. Kulthum Nabunya Ends Marriage With Akram Gumisiriza, Cites ‘Red Flags’ & Betrayal

Dr. Hajjat Kulthum Nabunya, widow of the late Sheikh Muzaata, has publicly announced the end of her marriage with businessman Akram Gumisiriza.

In a heartfelt statement, Kulthum revealed that despite trying to save their relationship, she could no longer continue living in pretense.

Kulthum married Akram in 2022, nearly two years after losing her beloved husband, Sheikh Muzaata, in 2020. She explained that the marriage began with hope and a need for companionship. However, things didn’t go as planned.

“I started seeing red flags from the very start,” she wrote in her emotional letter.

“We both know our relationship has changed. I no longer feel seen, heard, or supported in the ways that matter most.”

Although she did not go into details, Akram has been involved in multiple scandals. He was once caught in a compromising situation at a lodge, an incident that was quickly hushed up. Additionally, controversy arose when reports emerged that he had allegedly made inappropriate advances toward Pretty Nicole, a young social media influencer whom Kulthum had taken in as her adopted daughter.

Kulthum emphasized that her decision was not made lightly and had been preceded by deep reflection, prayer, and efforts to reconcile.

“This is not about blame… I want this process to be as respectful and cooperative as possible.”

She concluded by noting that her family, along with Sheikh Abdul Rahaman Serunjoji, would handle the divorce process.

“Though this chapter ‘Marriage’ has ended, I will always value the moments we shared and the lessons we’ve learned,” she added.

The news has sparked a wave of public support, with many praising her for standing firm and choosing peace.

A famous social media influencer as well as media personality is now a Nalongo after she gave birth to twins.

Taking to her Instagram, the former NTV Be My Date presenter posted photos of herself a f her husband, Mark Ronald Mubiru, holding their newly born babies.

The two twins are a boy and a girl, and the former Miss Uganda runner-up couldn’t hide her excitement over becoming a parent.

“And then we were four. A perfect little boy and girl have made us parents. We are so grateful for this double miracle in our home. We’re beyond blessed and so in love with our family. I’m a Nalongo now,” she posted.

Reports surfaced earlier this week about how the beauty queen and her husband had become parents, but there wasn’t an official communication yet. The couple who got married a while ago have been trying to become parents but in vain.

It was only after they reportedly visited a fertility center in Kampala that they managed to conceive. Some doubters, however, have argued that the couple might have used a surrogate, as there were no photos of Anita Fabiola’s pregnancy circulated online.
